Tapì at Pentawards Live: an opportunity for learning and networking

On 13th February, we were guests at Pentawards Live, an important meeting place for professionals in the design, branding and new technologies sectors. But that’s not all: Pentawards Live 2019 was a great opportunity for networking, creating vital synergies with other companies operating in the packaging design world.

At the base of Pentawards Live lies a very precise idea: the creation of a physical space to allow creative-thinking leaders and innovators to share the know-how they have acquired in the design and packaging sector.

During the event, the leading representatives from the packaging world took their places on stage, coming up with some fascinating ideas for packaging that is creative and communicative without bucking the trends of recent years.

Pentawards Live enabled brand owners, designers and packaging managers to liaise with companies specializing in materials and packaging components, as well as design gurus and companies specializing in technological innovation. Three different areas linked by a meaningful common thread – connect, inspire and learn.

We are very proud to have exhibited at our own stand, P3.02, sharing our knowledge on innovation in the packaging sector and presenting our various ranges of closures designed for the finest premium and super-premium distillates. A fantastic opportunity to fly the flag of Italian excellence in the sector.

However, our partnership with Pentawards doesn’t end there. This year, 2019, we will be official sponsors of the whole project, which will come to a head on 12th September in London, with a traditional awards ceremony for the winning projects in the world’s most prestigious competition. We can’t wait!

Tapì at the Modernisation of the EU-Mexico Trade Agreement – Trade Opportunities

On 5 February 2019 , we flew to Mexico to the conference on the Modernisation of the EU-Mexico Trade Agreement held at the Ministry of Economy’s Auditorium in Mexico City.

The voices of Klaus Rudischhauser, EU ambassador to Mexico, and Sergio Contreras, Vice-President of COMCE (the Mexican Foreign Trade Commission), kicked off the event which featured case studies of various business opportunities, following the signing of a free trade agreement between Mexico and the European Union.

Luz María de la Mora, Undersecretary for Foreign Trade at the Ministry of the Economy and Helena König, the EU Deputy Director-General for Trade, outlined the changes and opportunities for expanding the exchange of goods, the customs simplifications and the new investment measures.

The Global Free Trade Agreement between Mexico and the European Union helped Mexican trade grow by 242%, making Europe the country’s third largest trading partner.

Based on these data, Tapì sent a delegation, with a presentation by Group CEO Roberto Casini, together with Jose Velez, general manager of Interglass; Armando Bonilla, International Director of Grisi; Hector Martinez, founding partner of Grupo Paisano and Edgar Ciceño,  Strategy Director at SAFRAN. The round table featured numerous success stories, specifically to outline what, in practice, the Global Agreement entails.

Tapì for AMANC: closures open in support of heart health

Tapì for AMANC: closures open in support of heart health

In Mexico, cancer is the leading cause of death in patients between the ages of 5 and 14, with over 5,000 new paediatric cases every year.

AMANC (Asociación Mexicana de Ayuda a Niños con Cáncer) was founded in 1982 to meet the need for treatment that parents could not always afford. Founder and President of the association, Guadalupe Alejandre Castillo, knows first-hand what it means to lose a child from leukaemia, which was why she decided to set up an organization to provide free comprehensive support to children and adolescents as they go through their treatment for the disease.

After decades of experience, AMANC is continuing its work, aiming to ensure that no child or adolescent suffering from cancer needs to stop treatment due to lack of financial resources. And that is how we at Tapì got involved, embracing the cause and making a donation that would help all children and parents in their daily fight against this monster of a disease.

Our trip to Mumbai

From October 24th to 26th, we were in the Indian city of Mumbai for Drink Technology. This three-day event attracted exhibitors from all over the world, interested in understanding how the beverage industry is evolving within the Indian market.

Several Round Table Talks were held, while one fascinating introduction this year was the Buyer-Seller Forum, which connected the demand and supply sides in a highly efficient way.

Currently, the Indian market for alcoholic beverages is around 15 billion rupees, the equivalent of well over 200 million US dollars. Growth estimates by Euromonitor International, by 2021, amount to 100% for soft drinks and 35% for alcoholic drinks in general, including spirits, wine and beer. These excellent forecasts are rooted mainly in the social changes and strong economic growth that the country is experiencing.

Drink Technology India was a unique opportunity to gain first-hand experience of the Indian market’s potential, as well as to learn and exchange viewpoints with sector professionals at global level. At this Mumbai event, our booth concentrated on presenting all the new items in our collections, which look to match trends in the beverage industry, dictated by the evolution of consumer needs, especially amongst Millennials.

From Tapì to Signature collections: innovative and sustainable materials for unique and highly customized packaging.

“What Drives You?”: the Peugeot event starring Tapì

What pushes you, what guides you? What drives you, the focus of the new launch format for the 508, the latest addition to the Peugeot stable.

A question which might be seen as provocative, but which Peugeot decided to ask entrepreneurs who represent Italian excellence around the world. The world-renowned automobile brand asked a range of entrepreneurs to explain what drives their commitment and professional growth, exploring the various crossover points between the automotive sector and the motivational and aspirational impetus that has led Italian entrepreneurship to thrive in a variety of different sectors.

The goal of the format was to highlight companies driven by their dreams, through people with a burning desire for growth who like to step well out of their comfort zone.

Tapì was one of the stars at the event, along with some of Italy’s finest companies, first at Caffè Pedrocchi in Padua and then at the Unicredit Pavilion in Milan. A unique opportunity to tell our story and set out our goals. We are proud to have been chosen by Peugeot as an example of Italian excellence.
