Tratamiento a alta temperatura:

Varnishless – the latest technology from Tapì with a sustainable soul

Varnishless – the latest technology from Tapì with a sustainable soul

Our new technology with a sustainable soul is Varnishless – based on wood being heat treated. The name Varnishless Technology relates directly to the absence of varnish used in the making of this type of closure head.

The thermal treatment of wood is made up of three phases:

Drying:

The wood is dried at a high temperature while its humidity is maintained at a constant level to reach the desired grade of drying.

High-temperature treatment:

Once the wood has reached the correct humidity level, thermal treatment begins. This is when the wood is heated to a very high temperature, depending on the level of desired coloration.

Cooling:

The conditioning and cooling phase allows the wood to stabilize.

Heat treated wood gains a completely natural look when finished, without the use of any chemicals or the need for any further processing.

Through the Varnishless technology, heat-treated wood undergoes improvements to its durability, stability and strength. The resilience that wood acquires – over 20 times greater than untreated wood – makes it more resistant to mold, fungus and insects.

Wooden finishes – the perfect look for every style!

A material like wood is naturally expressive, giving rise to a wide array of timeless designs accentuating any style – from the contemporary and designer to the more traditional, perennial looks.

Unlike other materials, wood’s advantage lies in its malleability, allowing it to be made into products with harmonious, smooth shapes that can be enhanced through craftsmanship and color solutions to adapt the material in line with the artistic design.

Another fundamental element is the finish applied to the closure’s head, offering further refinement to the finished product. We have a varied set of solutions to really bring out the best wood has to offer. Whether you are looking for a super-modern, contemporary closure with a lacquered finish or a more sophisticated design with a soft-touch finish, or even an innovative finish using the tumbling effect, the end result will be a stunningly unique design. Our latest addition – and also our most sustainable finish – is the natural effect created through our varnishless technology. It is achieved using high temperatures to treat the wood.

Tapì’s Global Meeting is back! And the theme will be “A TOAST TO WHAT’S NEXT”

Our offices and branches will be coming together from 28 to 31 March 2022 for Tapì’s Global Meeting.

Once again, Cognac has been selected as the place for us to meet. For us, this is both where our French division, Les Bouchages Delage, is located and the perfect way to reflect our continuity since the third event in 2020, before it was suspended due to the pandemic.

The company’s Global Meeting will offer a range of activities with the aim of engaging with management, discussing results achieved and disclosing our future goals. The agenda includes team building, speeches, themed workshops and information sharing to identify the upcoming challenges facing the Tapì Group. Events will provide in-depth focus on tackling the quality-quantity market trends, outlining competitive scenarios and recently emerging trends in the beverage market.

Against an ever more competitive backdrop, it’s critical to make time for cross-discipline discussions, where people can share their skills and experience as well as bolster our company’s winning team spirit. This year’s theme will be “A TOAST TO WHAT’S NEXT”.

Ultrasound – cutting-edge technology synonymous with security

ltrasound technology is a cutting-edge solution. The result of research and the desire to provide maximum hold for all closure shapes while avoiding the risk of breakage during use. Ultrasound bonding requires no adhesive, screws or glue. And it’s all down to one principle:

When ultrasound waves come into contact with a material, its molecules vibrate, initiating movement and producing energy. In thermoplastics, this provokes the bonding of materials. After a short period, as pressure is applied to the material, the different parts become bonded together at a molecular level, at their meeting point.

Impermeability, durability and appearance. These are the basic principles to our closure manufacture.

From these principles, we have created the Starlight and Starlight Mix ranges, designed to ensure the best hold with no risk of breakage or separation.

Starlight has a closure ferrule, positioned at the base of its head, ensuring an even more trustworthy fit. We offer this aesthetic component in an array of transparent and solid colors to create imaginative combinations of shades and hues.

A minimalist, modern design – our Araxa closure

Araxa Contemporary London Dry Gin displays a unique balance of aromas – spiced notes that transform into soft, sweet flavours. The ancient, southern Aegean art of cultivating super botanicals meets the craftsmanship of English master distillers.

Inspired by the elegance of the bottle, the modern, minimalist label design and the resolute, linear brand image, we created a completely customized closure in spray-lacquered beech wood.  Its black color, the epitome of elegance and style, highlights its qualities while the laser work on the top and side lend depth and modernity to the product.

‘I cannot think of a better place to speak to young people and start-ups about the future. A future that today already demands a clear change towards marketing with more than just profit as an objective. Instead its aims should focus on the environment and community. Through the book, Essentials of Modern Marketing, we want to guide students, young managers and entrepreneurs to work towards a sustainable and considerate economy,’ states Gabriele Carboni who is the keynote speaker. He will discuss how companies and young people can harness digital media to move into a new post-pandemic era.

Carboni will be presented with a copy of the book, ‘Essentials of Modern Marketing – Made in Italy edition’ by Kotler & partners during the event, and it will be available to buy from Amazon worldwide. The world’s most remarkable spirits – here’s our list

From vodka filtered through 4-billion-year-old meteorite rock to gin crafted with water from the Mediterranean Sea. Our listing of the world’s most remarkable spirits

The world of alcoholic drinks is highly varied, not least when it comes to spirits.

Alongside the solid traditions of centuries-old brands, there are also experimental products and labels. These have been created to meet ever-more discerning consumer demand, striving to capture inventive and very specific flavours.

This sector is in a constant state of change, but we have pinpointed a few of the more unusual spirits from around the world. From vodka filtered through 4-billion-year-old meteorite rock to gin crafted with water from the Mediterranean Sea.

Read on to find out about them all.

Outer Space Vodka

Outer Space is the brand name and that of the vodka. It is made from premium American maize and distilled five times over, giving it an ultra-clean flavour. The label tells us that its last filtering takes place using 4-billion-year-old meteorite rock – originating from the collision between the earth and other celestial objects.

Outer Space vodka – with its bottle in the shape of an alien’s head – has won over consumers with its flavour and its quirkiness. And most importantly on social media.

MUMA Gin

MUMA Gin is an entirely Italian product, created with the aim of making Puglian flavours well-known across the world.

Its singularity certainly comes from the ingredients and aromas used to plunge the consumer into the Mediterranean culture. Chamomile, juniper, iris, lemon and orange blend with the gin’s leading light – purified water from the Mediterranean Sea.

A winning idea for a product that commands all the senses, taking you on a journey for its own sake.

Anty Gin

There are probably many examples of spirits that contain worms, scorpions and other unusual creatures. But this is a first in the gin world. At least until now as Cambridge Distillery has produced its own Anty Gin.

The idea to use formic acid was without a doubt eccentric with the acid being taken from red wood ants. It seems that when this substance encounters alcohol, it produces aromas and flavours that vastly enhance the flavours of fermented and distilled drinks.

Every bottle contains an extract made from precisely 62 red ants. And even though Anty Gin is no longer available to buy as it’s a limited-edition product, it certainly deserves to be on the list of the most remarkable spirits in the world.

Pumpkin Spice Moonshine

Made by Corsair Distillery in Nashville, Pumpkin Spice Moonshine is a whisky that has reinvented the late 19th century brewing tradition – a time when beer was made from plants.

In the same vein, this whisky is distilled using pumpkins, amongst other things.

Obviously, the recipe is secret, but it is one of the most interesting – and daring – experiments of recent years.

Bakon Vodka

No grains have been mixed in the making of this vodka!

Only the best quality American potatoes, grown in the north-west and with the delicious flavour of bacon.

The result is Bakon Vodka – a product with a clean, crisp flavour. There’s no smokiness, making it perfect to enjoy neat or in a top-notch Bloody Mary.

Not just spirits – some other quirky yet bold drinks

The desire to experiment has spread beyond the spirits’ sector. It is a broader trend in the alcoholic drinks market.

In recent years we have noted ideas of varying degrees of daring. Not least, Pizza Beer, made with a pizza Margherita infusion, or Squirrel Beer that has 55% alcohol content and is sold in an embalmed squirrel.

And then there’s Snake Wine, holding its own in this listing. Available in Asia, it is created through the infusion of whole snakes immersed in rice wine.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Spirits Strategies & Innovation Conference – 20 and 21 October

The Spirits Strategies & Innovation Conference is back this year after great success in recent years. And this is the tenth edition of the event. Some of the key players in the sector will be gathering on 20 and 21 October, in London’s stunning Chelsea Harbour Hotel.

This year we will look specifically at a variety of issues – from the importance of a robust e-commerce strategy for alcoholic drinks and spirits producers to the impact of Covid-19 on the whole industry. And we’ll also examine sustainability – the pivotal trend that’s fundamental for the entire sector.

Two days of much-needed networking opportunities but also time to find out and learn about current and future directions.

As event sponsors, members of the Tapì team will be at our stand to provide information on all our closures. And Barry Hamilton, Sales Director Scotland & Ireland, will be hosting a presentation focused on industry trends that go further than sustainability. His presentation title is Trends Beyond Sustainability: driving evolution within packaging.
