THIS IS PACIFICA — Craft and purpose expressed through a thoughtful and bold approach

Based in Porto, Portugal, This is Pacifica is an independent design and art direction studio known for its strategic vision and expressive visual language. Their work spans branding, identity systems, and packaging, with each project grounded in clarity, craft, and purpose.

Certified in EcoDesign and recognized internationally, the studio operates where sustainability meets sophistication. Their approach is both thoughtful and bold — continuously exploring new ways to tell stories, elevate products, and create meaningful impact through design.

LEVITA — A culinary experience that becomes a ritual of taste

Levita originates from a rare and recent discovery: wild truffles found in the Oeste region of Portugal. From this moment, a new identity was conceived — not only a brand, but a complete experience designed to elevate the way truffles are presented and served.

Encased in a custom Estal jar and sealed with a bespoke wooden slicer lid completely developed by Tapì, Levita is designed to move from storage to table. The act of slicing becomes part of the ritual, transforming packaging into a performative gesture.

More than a container, Levita redefines the relationship between product and experience, where the product becomes the essence of interaction.

A closure with no boundaries where design and gesture converge as one

The closure is conceived not as a simple lid, but as a tool, an integral part of the experience. Its construction is based on two lacquered beech wood shells, assembled to integrate a natural leather strap, hot-stamped in gold, designed to guide the grip and interaction.

Within the lower shell, a housing is precisely carved to accommodate a stainless steel truffle slicer blade, complete with a sliding channel that facilitates the cutting motion.

The upper shell is sculpted into two subtle crescent cavities, allowing the integration of labels that enrich the object without disrupting its form.

A key technical challenge lay in the development of the leather strap — engineered to be thin enough for flexibility, yet structured enough to return to its original position in alignment with the closure.

In Levita, the closure is no longer a boundary between inside and outside. It becomes the point of contact — where material, movement, and ritual converge.
